Samuel Sesay, a marketer, faced Magistrate Santigie Bangura at Pademba Road Court No.2 in Freetown on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, to answer to charges of forgery and uttering a forged document. Sesay is accused of violating sections 4(1) and 6(1)(2) of the Forgery Act of 1913.

According to the charges, on July 16, 2024, at #56 Campbell Street in the western area of Freetown, Sesay allegedly forged a Republic of Sierra Leone Police clearance certificate, number 07621. The document was purportedly dated July 30, 2020, but with an intent to deceive, it was dated as July 30, 2024.

Further allegations state that on the same day and location, Sesay knowingly presented the forged clearance certificate as authentic, intending to defraud.

The charges were formally read and explained to Sesay, who has yet to enter a plea. The case is ongoing, with further proceedings scheduled to determine the next steps.
