The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) World Service has selected AYV Media Empire for the prestigious BBC Media Leaders Programme.
Mr. Messeh Leone traveled to Cape Town on a fully sponsored trip from the BBC to participate in the four-day conference, which is focused on advancing media development in Africa.
The event, taking place at Sun Square Cape Town City Bowl from November 5th to 9th, 2024, covers various aspects of the multimedia industry, including TV, radio, print, digital, and other platforms. This year’s theme, “Building Reach and Trust with Young Audiences,” reflects the growing importance of engaging younger demographics in media.
The BBC Media Leaders Programme serves as a unique platform for senior executives and directors to exchange ideas, share knowledge, and explore issues like media trends, financial sustainability, and business strategies for media organizations.
During the conference, Messeh Leone is networking with top BBC executives and participating in working group sessions alongside media partners, CEOs, and directors from across Africa.
Speaking from Cape Town, Leone said, “We deeply appreciate our partner, the BBC. The BBC Media Leaders Programme is a fantastic opportunity. Having AYV recognized as a top BBC media partner highlights our commitment to world-class multimedia and independent journalism. Our trust-based partnership with the BBC continues to grow, and this platform provides valuable insights into innovative content creation, AI usage, editorial guidelines, and strategies for building trust with young audiences.”
2024 marks the fifth anniversary of the strategic multimedia partnership between AYV and the BBC. The partnership, announced on March 22, 2019, was AYV’s first collaboration with a global broadcaster.
AYV Founder and CEO, Ambassador Anthony Navo Jr., commented, “Our five-year partnership with the BBC has been productive and historic for both organizations. Together, we’ve extended our global reach and brought enriching content to our audiences. We look forward to many more years of success.”
Over the years, the BBC-AYV partnership has produced a range of innovative programs and continues to provide AYV with access to world-class broadcasting resources for both local and international audiences.
