The Minister of Youth Affairs, Ibrahim Sannoh, presided over the certification of 68 young women at the Women’s Digital Center on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.
The ceremony, held at the Orange Foundation Hall, celebrated the successful completion of an intensive training program managed by the National Youth Commission (NaYCom). The graduates are now equipped with essential skills in digital literacy, online entrepreneurship, and software applications.
Minister Sannoh emphasized that the training transcends formal certification, focusing instead on building the confidence of women to become “job creators” rather than just “job seekers.”

He linked digital inclusion directly to national prosperity, famously noting: “When you empower a woman digitally, you empower a nation economically.”
Special recognition was given to the Commissioner of NaYCom, Mr. Joseph Maada Lahai, for turning youth development policy into “practical action.”
Minister Sannoh reaffirmed the government’s dedication to expanding these digital opportunities beyond the capital. He pledged that the Ministry of Youth Affairs would continue to partner with strategic institutions to ensure technological literacy reaches every district in Sierra Leone.

“The future of Sierra Leone’s economy is deeply connected to innovation, technology, and the boldness of young people like you.” Minister Ibrahim Sannoh
The event concluded with testimonials from the trainees and cultural displays, marking a festive end to a journey of intellectual and professional growth. With this new cohort of 68 certified specialists, NaYCom continues to cement its role as a leader in preparing the next generation for the global digital revolution.
