The Minister of Health, Dr. Austin Demby, recently visited Kono District to inspect the ongoing construction of the Maternity Center of Excellence by Partners In Health (PIH) Sierra Leone.
The project aims to enhance healthcare delivery, particularly for women and children in the region.
During his visit, Dr. Demby received positive feedback from local residents, who shared their thoughts on the significance of the project.
He expressed his ministry’s commitment to improving healthcare services across Sierra Leone, driven by the hope of providing top-quality services for women and children in Kono.
Dr. Demby and his delegation also made brief stops at Yengema village to inspect the construction of a community health center and visited Sowafeh to commend residents for their strong support of the President’s healthcare initiatives.
The Minister was accompanied by key members of his delegation, including the Country Representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Country Manager of the World Bank.
The team expressed excitement about the ongoing construction, hopeful for the positive impact it will have on healthcare in Kono and beyond.
