Edwina Hawa Jamiru, a 21-year-old law student at Fourah Bay College, has been charged with domestic violence against Appeals Court Judge Justice Alhaji Momoh Jah Stevens, the same judge she publicly accused last year of impregnating and abandoning her.

Concord Times reports that the case, which was brought before Magistrate Mamakoh Saio Kallon at Pademba Road Court No. 3, includes three counts of physical abuse and intimidation allegedly committed on August 27, 2025, at Kowa Drive in Regent, Freetown. The charges are brought under Section 2(1) of the Domestic Violence Act of 2007.

According to the prosecution, the alleged acts occurred within the context of a domestic relationship between Jamiru and Justice Stevens. The judge is now seeking legal redress as the complainant.

When the matter was called, Jamiru was absent from court. Prosecutor Inspector Mohamed Kamara applied for a bench warrant for her arrest, which was granted by Magistrate Kallon. The case has been adjourned until September 25, 2025.

This legal action follows explosive allegations Jamiru made against Justice Stevens in December 2024. At that time, then 19-year-old Jamiru circulated a video on social media in which she claimed the senior judge had engaged in a long-term romantic relationship with her, impregnated her, and then refused to take responsibility.

“We were lovers, boyfriend and girlfriend, and we had been together for years… He told me he never loved me and only used me to satisfy his sexual desires,” Jamiru alleged in the video. She expressed profound disappointment, stating that as an aspiring lawyer, she had viewed the judiciary as a “symbol of hope.
