The Media Reform Coordinating Group (MRCG), in collaboration with several partners, has officially launched the National Fund for Public Interest Media (NaFPIM), a new initiative aimed at strengthening the media industry.

The National Fund’s goal is to encourage the development of high-quality media resources that empower individuals, enabling them to make informed decisions and participate in discussions about critical issues that impact their daily lives.

The National Fund for Public Interest Media is designed with the following objectives:

  1. Supporting Quality Content Production: The fund will assist media organizations in creating content that enhances public understanding and fosters inclusive discussions on important societal issues.

  2. Promoting Media Innovation: NaFPIM is committed to fostering creativity and quality in the media industry by providing grantees with opportunities to experiment with innovative techniques and better align their content with audience needs.

  3. Ensuring Media Sustainability: The fund aims to promote the long-term survival of media outlets by strengthening internal mechanisms and diversifying revenue streams.

MRCG and its partners seek to improve media quality and sustainability through this initiative, ensuring that the sector continues to serve the public interest and meets the needs of informed citizens.
