As part of their initiative to empower young women across the country, The National Youth Commission (NAYCOM) and Orange Foundation Sierra Leone have certified young women and girls in digital skills for career success and entrepreneurship training and development in Kenema and in Makeni.
The initiative seeks to support women and young girls who have dropped out of school prematurely as well as promote digital inclusion in local communities and improve the livelihood of women and young girls living in abject poverty.
The Commissioner NAYCOM, Ahmed Atata Mansaray Esq, congratulated the graduates for successful training.

He noted that the initiative is tailored towards empowering women and young girls with digital and entrepreneurial skills so they can be self reliant as tied to President Bio’s human capital development agenda and admonished them to make good use of the opportunity.
The Commissioner called on development partners to help these graduates showcase what they’ve learnt by creating a platform for them. He added that nothing was required from the graduates during the training, underscoring that every step of the application and graduation processes were free.
The Program Manager, Women Digital Centre, Orange Foundation SL, Sia Margaret Mondeh encouraged the graduates to showcase what they’ve learnt during the training as it might open doors for them in the corporate world.

She emphasized the need for continuous practice on the skills they’ve acquired during the training while urging them to maintain humility.
