Six accused persons, including two Nigerian businessmen, have been charged to court for alleged kidnapping.
The accused persons: businessmen – Prince Oskar and Emekar Ourgbo; civil servants – Salifu Yamah Samura, Saed Foud Thoronka, Mohamed Dauda Turay, and Ferdimand Oyeozir appeared before Magistrate Marke Ngegba of the Padember Road Magistrate Court No.1 on 28 February 2023.
The accused persons were charged with conspiracy and other offices contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.
The particulars of the offense stated it was alleged that on different dates between the 11th and 16th December 2023 in different places in Freetown conspire with unknown persons to commit different offenses to the complaints.
It was alleged that the accused persons between the 11th and 16th of December 2023, at No. 26 Small Doherty Street, Murrytown in Freetown conspired to kidnap Alusine Nwachi Nwosu.
The Charges further state that the accused persons on the same date and place assaulted Austine Nwosu in a manner thereby causing him actual bodily harm.
It was further alleged that on the same date, along Lumley Beach Road, Salifu Samura and three others in the squad stole from the complainant $1000.
It was also alleged that on the same date and place in Freetown, Mohamed Dauda Turay, Saed Fuad Thoronk, and Sahr Kamanda attempted to kidnap the complainant.
It was disclosed that some of the accused persons were not present in Court and the circumstance and the presiding Magistrate had cause to issue bench warrants for their arrest.
The matter was adjoined to the 7th of March 2023 for further hearing.
