The National Public Procurement Authority (NPPA) has introduced its e-Government Procurement (e-GP) documents, marking a key milestone in Sierra Leone’s efforts to modernize governance.

The launch event, hosted at the Ministry of Finance, brought together stakeholders from government, international organizations, civil society, and the media.

NPPA CEO Forie J. Konneh described the e-GP initiative as a transformative step to enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in public service delivery, urging collaboration from all stakeholders.

Chairman Alfred H. Kandeh emphasized its potential to revolutionize procurement processes, while Sylvester B. Alieu of NPPA highlighted the significance of integrating technology into public administration.

Deputy Financial Secretary More B. Momoh noted the initiative’s alignment with government efforts to modernize financial management and streamline services, reducing delays and improving accessibility. Technical Assistant Alie Bangura elaborated on the e-GP’s features, stressing its role in ensuring public funds are used effectively.

The launch event featured contributions from Ministries, Departments, Agencies (MDAs), and civil society organizations, who praised the initiative while offering recommendations for its successful implementation.

The e-Government Procurement system aims to reduce bureaucratic inefficiencies, enhance transparency, and establish a citizen-focused governance framework. By adopting digital solutions, Sierra Leone is setting new standards in public administration and accountability.
