The regional police under the leadership of AIG Brima Kanneh in Bo, apprehended an alleged serving member of the Sierra Leone forces and his accomplice at the Fallah Checkpoint on Wednesday 18th October 2023.
The incident unfolded when checkpoint personnel, acting on the directives of AIG Brima Kanneh, embarked on a thorough search operation to crack down on drug-related activities. The operation culminated in the arrest of Corporal Keifala Kamara, bearing Force number Cpl. 18182088, and his hired commercial motorbike rider, Amodu Kamara, from Daru bike park.
According to law enforcement officials, the suspects attempted to evade capture by bulldozing through the Fallah Checkpoint. However, they were tracked down and finally apprehended at the Namia Snap Checkpoint.
Upon further inspection, police personnel discovered a staggering ten (10) kilo wraps of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis-sativa, neatly packed in nine (9) green plastic bags. The total haul amounted to thirty-nine (39) parcels of dried leaves, suspected to be Cannabis-Sativa.
Both suspects, along with their motorbikes, were promptly taken into custody and transported to the Bo West Transnational Organized Crime Unit (TOCU) for thorough investigations.
