Police Officer in Court for Murder
Fayia Junior Moseray Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Pademba Road Magistrate Court No.1 on Friday 10 March 2023, remanded a police officer at the Male Correctional Center for murder contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.
According to the report, a serving member of the Sierra Leone Police (SLP), Almamy Fofanah attached to the residence of the former Lebanese Chairman, Samir Hassanyeh as a security guard, was arraigned in Court and charged on one count charge of murder.
The report alleged that the accused on Wednesday 1st of February 2023 at Bassa Town Waterloo, in the Western Rural District of Sierra Leone murdered one Yayah Jalloh.
Assistant Superintendent (ASP), I.S. Mansaray is prosecuting the matter in Court.
Magistrate Mark Ngegba, after reading the count charges to the accused, remanded him at the male correctional centre.
The matter was also adjourned to Friday 17 March 2023, for another hearing.
