Detective Police Constable (DPC), Hassan Bangura attached to the Scientific scene of Crime unit at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters has testified in Court in the alleged murder case between the state and the former Skye Bank manager, Ikubolajoe Nicole.

The alleged matter came up on Monday 6 March 2023, at Pademba Magistrate Road Court No.1.

The accused allegedly killed his junior employee Sinna Kargbo.

Detective Police Constable (DPC), Hassan Bangura attached to the Scientific scene of Crime unit at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters testified in Court that he recognized the accused and recalled that on Thursday, September 20, 2022, he went to visit the crime scenes and witness post-mortem examinations to take photos of them and keep them for evidence in Court.

PC Bangura furthered that on that day, a team of investigators headed by Kasegbama arrived at the Police station and informed him to witness a post-mortem examination which he honored at the Connaught Hospital mortuary.

He expressed that while at the mortuary, the remains of the deceased, Sinna Kargbo were displayed in the post-mortem slab in the presence of the investigators, the Government pathologist, and the relatives of the deceased.

He added that one of the relatives of the deceased Idrisa Kamara identified to Dr. Owizz Koroma the body of Sinna Kargbo (The deceased) before the autopsy started.

He said during the autopsy, he took a series of photographs and later printed them into pictures which were kept in a photo album and kept under custody at the CID.

During the cross-examination by the defense counsel Roland Wright, the witness said he could not recall the total number of people present when the post-mortem examination was going on but he confirmed to the Court that there were two Doctors present namely: Doctor Owizz assisted by Doctor Kojo Carew adding that there was a constant bitter discussion between the doctors.

The witness also confirmed that he was present at the autopsy process from start to finish.
He also denied knowing all the relatives of the deceased and lawyers representing the deceased during the autopsy.

However, Magistrate Mark Ngegba, after hearing from both sides, denied the accused bail and sent him on remand to the Pademba Road Male Correctional Center.

The matter was adjourned to Friday 9 March 2023, for another hearing.
