In a viral social media video, a Sierra Leone police officer has been captured making death threats against a detainee
The officer openly declared his intention to kill the prisoner, showing no fear, and even claimed he would recognize him once they were both out of prison
He stated that he had declared a jihad against the detainee and vowed to kill him after his incarceration
“I have declared jihad war between me and you. I will kill you immediately you get out of prison”.

I think we have have to lay politics aside. Such act is completely unprofessional. The code of ethics and principles of policing doesn’t tolerate such in a civilized world. The police is there to protect lives and property but in this aspect seen publicly uttering such words is uncall for. This is in Waterloo Police Divisional Headquarters. It’s not something new…

Journalist in Sierra Leone are not following up on issues, since this police officer declared a jihadist war to this civilian, what disciplinary actions the police force has taken against him? These police officers in Sierra Leone are acting as if they are above the law. Let there be a mechanism to monitor these officers and dismissed them on such behavior asap. I want to believe the police officer in question did not adhere to the ethics in policing. He allowed his irritating anger from the prisoner and could not control his temper that led him alter that silly statement. Ray
The officer in question is the OPS MANAGER Waterloo division, and his name is Siaka Vandy. He led the team of armed officers that massacred unarmed civilians at Tombo. He is also the one that halted Dr Samura Kamara’s convoy at Songo while returning from Lungay Airport. He is known to have committed so many human rights abuses ever since the paopa regime came to power. He considered himself untouchable.

This photo / video just shows how bias this reporter is. Tell us what happened between the particular poilce that criminal. Some have indentified him on a wrong footing. The police department and his superior should also take action. The Police officer is there to protect and not to create a negative and fearful environment.
