Two senior officials of the road construction company Pavifort Al Associates SL Ltd are reported to have been attacked and beaten along Koroma street in Kenema.

Inj. Momodu Alieu Jalloh, project manager and the operations manager Abdulai Bah are said to have been on a routine spot checks on Koroma street where recent works have been concentrated. During the inspection it is understood that workers of two Lebanese businessmen were engaged in a work before their dwelling house that had some negative impact on a recent priming exercise done by the company. During the ensuing exchanges, the workers of Kaldoun Jaward and his brother who were in the compound are alleged to have come out to attacked the pair who sustained body injuries.

Upon receipt of the incident, some bike riders who became angry joined the fray and are also alleged to have deposited stones and other materials into the house of the two Lebanese businessmen for undoing the work done by Pavifort.

A police officer who had earlier arrived at the scene during the initial attack on Pavifort officials made two arrests and taken to the police for further investigation. The two senior company officials were taken to the government hospital for treatment before statements were obtained from them.

The matter witnessed another twist when the two business persons later went to the criminal investigation department to report an alleged attack on their premises by Pavifort workers whom they claimed catered away with several items in the house.

In response, company officials say only two of their senior officials on a single motorcycle were out on the inspection and described such claims as mere fabrication and preposterous designed out of their own imagination.
