The Paramount Chief of Dembelia Musaia Chiefdom in Falaba District, Manga Jawara II has commended the Sierra Leone Judiciary for bring Justice closer to the people.

The paramount said that the court sittings in his chiefdom is the first in his life and appreciated the Chief Justice, Desmond Babatunde Edwards for bringing justice to remote areas of the country.

The Judiciary announced last week that they will be conducting the High Court Criminal Sessions in Falaba, Bonthe and Pujehun Districts.

They said the reason was to bring access to justice closer to areas with no sitting judge. They added that the sessions will also ease the issue of overcrowding in correctional centres and promised expeditious trials.
