A young Sierra Leonean, Philip Lahai Tangabay, has been recognized by the management of Air Sierra Leone for his remarkable recreation of a handcrafted model of the Embraer 145 aircraft in the airline’s official colours.
According to the airline, a few days ago they came across photos of the beautifully crafted model, which immediately caught their attention. Upon further inquiry, they discovered that the creator was Philip Lahai Tangabay a passionate and talented individual inspired by Sierra Leone’s bold return to the skies.

Moved by his creativity and patriotic spirit, the management of Air Sierra Leone invited Philip to their headquarters on 10th July 2025 to honour and celebrate his impressive work.
As part of their commitment to nurturing young talents, the management arranged a special tour of the actual aircraft Philip had modeled the Freetown–Lagos ERJ145.

To further encourage his passion for aviation, they also presented him with a complimentary return ticket to Lagos, Nigeria, redeemable later this year at a time of his choosing.
