The Sierra Leone Police in Bo have arrested one Yusifu Jalloh, a resident of First Pump Line, Adonkia, Goderich, Freetown, for unlawful possession of substances suspected to be kush.

According to police sources, the suspect was intercepted at Fallah Checkpoint in Bo during a routine security operation. Upon inspection, officers discovered nine black plastic bags containing what is believed to be the illicit narcotic substance commonly known as kush.

The suspect was immediately taken into custody, along with the seized exhibits, as part of an ongoing investigation into possible drug trafficking networks operating between Freetown and Bo District.

Law enforcement authorities have intensified their crackdown on kush-related crimes amid growing concerns about the drug’s devastating impact on young people and communities nationwide.

Police reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring that those involved in the distribution, sale, and consumption of illicit drugs face the full force of the law.

The public is meanwhile urged to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station as the fight against drug trafficking continues.
