The Sierra Leone Police on Thursday, 27th June 2024, arrested three individuals for alleged human trafficking at the Dambo Checkpoint in Koindu Division, Kailahun District, Eastern Sierra Leone.

The suspects, identified as Abdul Kamara of Ategbeh Town, Waterloo, Mustapha Samuel Conteh, and Alfred Sessy of Wusu Street, Makeni, were apprehended while transporting 17 people, including men, women, and children aged 13 to 28 from Waterloo to the Republic of Niamey via Yenga in Guinea on five motorbikes.

The suspects and victims are currently being held at the Koindu Police Station, waiting to be taken to the Regional Headquarters in Kenema for further investigation.

The Sierra Leone Police has promised to provide more updates to the public as the investigation unfolds.
