A major drug seizure occurred at the Wanadara Security Crossing Point in Bramaia Chiefdom, Kambia District, following an intelligence tip-off about a large stash of dried green leaves believed to be cannabis sativa.
Acting swiftly, the Northwest Regional Operations team, led by Superintendent Sinneh Bangura, along with the Kambia Police Division Operations unit, raided the location around 10:00 AM and uncovered 20 compressed bales of the suspected substance.
The bales, found abandoned, have been secured as evidence and transported to the Northwest Regional Police Headquarters for further investigation. However, no arrests have been made so far.
Authorities have launched a full-scale probe to track down those responsible for the illicit shipment.
Security forces remain on high alert as efforts to curb illegal drug trafficking in border areas continue.
May Allah free Salone from these dangerous drugs and direct our youths to follow the right directions.
Ameen!
