The Freetown West Region of Sierra Leone, on Monday, November 24 2025, seized three barrels and three cartons containing dried leaves suspected to be kush, following an intelligence-led police operation.
The breakthrough operation was conducted under the direct supervision of AIG Sylvester M. N. Koroma, the Regional Commander, whose team swiftly moved on actionable intelligence across multiple locations.
Two of the barrels were recovered from a Serena vehicle with registration ALA-080, driven by Yussif Sesay. Another barrel was intercepted from a Toyota taxi (API-156) at Adonkia Cemetery in Goderich. Additionally, three cartons of suspected kush were discovered at a nearby residence believed to be owned by a woman identified as Patricia, who is currently on the run.
During preliminary investigations, driver Yussif Sesay claimed he had been contracted by one Abdul Rahman Sesay to transport the barrels. Both men have since been taken into custody. Meanwhile, the taxi driver linked to the Toyota vehicle fled the scene, and efforts to locate and arrest him are ongoing.

All seized exhibits have been secured and are awaiting forensic laboratory analysis.
The operation marks a major disruption to drug trafficking activities in the region and reinforces the commitment of AIG Sylvester M. N. Koroma to intensifying the fight against illegal drugs in Freetown West.
