Augustine Omaska, a notorious escapee from the Pademba Road Correctional Facility after the unlawful break on November 26th, 2022, has been successfully re-apprehended in the Kandeh section of Bo City by authorities.
Omaska’s criminal history includes involvement in a 2017 case of Robbery with Aggravation, leading to his condemnation after facing justice.
Assistant Inspector General of Police, Brima Kanneh, the Regional Police Commander South, hailed Omaska’s re-arrest as a significant development that mitigates immediate threats to public safety. Kanneh underscored the importance of apprehending such high-profile escapees, emphasizing the reassurance it brings to the community.
Furthermore, Kanneh highlighted that Omaska’s recapture has triggered a comprehensive review of his background, previous offenses, and the circumstances surrounding his initial incarceration.
