Police at the Koakoyima Police Post in Tankoro Chiefdom, Kono District, allegedly accused of compromising a sexual penetration matter that was reported at the aforementioned police post from Koryadu village in Tankoro Chiefdom Kono District.

Sources from Koryadu village state that the alleged sexual penetration matter was reported at the Koakoyima Police Post on the 18th of October 2024, and the alleged perpetrator, according to the Sources, was arrested on Sunday 20th, October 2024, and placed in police cells at the above-mentioned police post.

Residents of Koryadu village who spoke to our correspondent noted that some of the police officers at the said police post, after arresting the perpetrator and placed in police cells, are now hiding the matter from stakeholders who want to ensure that the survivor has justice on the grounds of compromising the matter:

To confirm the alleged rape matter by having their response on the allegation of hiding the said matter from stakeholders, the officer commanding Koakoyima police post in Tankoro chiefdom Kono District Mr Amara, told our reporter that the post had little or no knowledge of the said matter and that a matter of such nature was never reported at the post from

Koryadu village.

Meanwhile, impeccable information from the corridors of the Koakoyima police post states that the survivor and her father, together with other family members, were present at the police post when our correspondent visited the post regarding the matter.

After a while, our correspondent sent the below text message to the officer commanding Koakoyima Police Post, who initially denied knowledge of the said matter: ” Good afternoon sir, l am Problyn Alpha A-Z Newspapers Correspondent, l visited your office in this morning concerning an alleged sexual penetration matter that was brought to your office a few days ago a from Koryadu village, although you initially denied knowledge of the said matter. However, impeccable information has confirmed to me  that the said matter was indeed reported at the Koakoyima police post in your area of jurisdiction some days ago and that you are hiding the matter from the media on the.. grounds of compromising the matter. To maintain people’s confidence and trust in the watchwords of the Sierra Leone police ” force for good, “it would be nice if you cleared the air on the matter in question. A few hours after the aforementioned message was sent, the officer commanding in question called our correspondent’s phone at around 8:30 p.m. and told him they didn’t have the right to share information with the public. He asked our correspondent to contact the media and communications officer of the Motema police and division for firsthand information on the reported matter.

Our correspondent’s efforts to contact the media and communications officer at Motema police divisional headquarters in Nimikoro chiefdom Kono District proved futile. Unconfirmed Sources say the matter has been reported to the Motema police division.

The fourteen-year-old JSS two pupil, when talking to this medium, maintained that on the above fateful date, she and her friend vere passing by the house of the alleged perpetrator when he called and approached her to be his girlfriend and promised to give her money, adding at the verge of holding the money, the alleged perpetrator Tamba Senesie dragged her into his bedroom and sexually penetrated her and hreatened to kill her if she raises any alarm “Because I never wanted him to stab me and I was unable to withstand his strength as a man he pushed me on his bed removed my clothes and sexually penetrated the survivor in tears narrated.”

She has called on stakeholders and the Sierra Leone police to fight on her behalf to get justice in the said matter.
