A police officer Constable 17533 Joseph Regina Lebbie has been dismissed from the Sierra Leone Police for beating his biological mother.
This information was disclosed to the public by the Director of Operations at the Sierra Leone Police Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Dr. John Martin Senesie during a press conference held on Wednesday 21st February 2024, at Police Headquarters, George Street in Freetown.
According to ACP Dr. John Martin Senesie, Constable 17533 Joseph Regina Lebbie was invited by the Inspector General of Police William Fayia Sellu for interrogation as to why he beat up his mother but responded that he had nothing to say and was prepared to face any consequences determined by the police.
ACP Dr.John Martin Senesic further revealed that a tribunal was set up to investigate the Officer, who was found guilty of the offense of beating his mother and was immediately dismissed from the Force without any benefits.
In his closing statement, Dr. John Martin Senessie noted that the Sierra Leone Police Force would not condone any bad eggs and any Officer that falls short will be dealt with according to the law.
