Police in the Moyamba Division have arrested a man found in possession of suspected cannabis, the latest in a series of narcotics-related arrests in the Southern Region.
According to police, Mohamed Kamara Williams was apprehended on Monday, September 29, 2025, at Mosongo Village with two parcels of dried leaves believed to be Cannabis Sativa. The suspect is currently in custody as investigations continue.
This arrest is part of a broader operational effort in the Southern Region. Official records indicate that between January and September 2025, the Southern Regional Command has made over 35 narcotics-related arrests. During this period, police have seized more than 120 parcels of suspected cannabis and other illicit substances in operations across Bo, Moyamba, Bonthe, Pujehun, and the Mano River Divisions.
A significant operation under this initiative led to the arrest of Daddy Maxwell, a figure long identified by police as a prominent drug dealer in Bo. His capture, described by police as an intelligence-led operation, triggered a wider investigation now being handled by the Transnational Organized Crime Unit (TOCU) headquarters in Freetown.
The Sierra Leone Police have reaffirmed their commitment to combating drug-related offenses and dismantling criminal networks throughout the country.
