In a coordinated operation, police from the Northwest Region, led by OSD Coordinator Superintendent Sahr Jimmy, provided security for a court-ordered eviction on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at 11 Father Street, Bamoi Luma, Magbema Chiefdom, Kambia District.

The eviction followed a ruling by Magistrate George Borbor Samai in favor of Rev. Sullaiman Kamara and resulted in the orderly removal of Mr. Tamba Turay and others.

Superintendent Jimmy emphasized a professional and vigilant approach, instructing officers to observe the eviction without directly participating, and stressing the importance of discipline and teamwork.

The operation concluded peacefully, with Superintendent Jimmy commending the officers’ conduct and urging the community to respect the court’s decision and maintain peace.

However, frustrations were voiced by the Kambia District Civil Society Movement, a coalition of over 60 CSOs advocating for the district’s residents.

Chairperson Madam Aminata Turay expressed concerns about the lack of collaboration with civil society by the new Kambia Police LUC, emphasizing that effective communication with local CSOs is vital for community security and building trust.
