Senior police officials and district authorities visited the family of Anthony S. Kargbo, a fuel attendant shot dead in Worreh Village, to offer condolences and calm community tensions.

The incident occurred on January 12, 2026, and investigations are ongoing.

Assistant Inspector General of Police Victor Manfred Williams assured the family that the police are committed to pursuing the case diligently. “We understand the pain the family is going through, and as law enforcement officers, we feel it too,” he said.

Bombali District Council Chairman M.B. Sisay urged relatives and community members to remain patient and law-abiding, noting that the Sierra Leone Police have assumed full responsibility for the investigation.

The killing has sparked concern among residents, with calls for improved security and swift justice. Police are appealing for public cooperation to identify and arrest the suspect.

The delegation included senior officers from various police divisions in the northeast.
