The Freetown Polytechnic student union body in Pujehun campus has on Saturday 24th August 2024, concluded the student union elections.
The event which took place in the campus at Holy Rosary Secondary School along Jah Street Pujehun town brought together the campus staff, students, stakeholders and the press.
The elections are significant events that shapes the campus community’s dynamics governance and structure, focused towards fostering education and creating conducive learning environment among students.
Speaking to this medium the student union welfare Coordinator Abdulai Konneh disclosed that they had one candidate Bockarie Rogers who contested for the position and satisfied all the required criteria which ultimately qualify him to won the election unopposed.
Thus, the student’s union welfare coordinator Abdulai Konneh on behalf of the commissioner declared Bockarie Rogers as the duly elected president of the student union body at the Freetown Polytechnic Pujehun campus for 2024/2025 academic year.
Konneh expressed thanks and appreciation to all attendees for witnessing the election process and congratulated Bockarie Rogers the newly elected president and he admonished him and his team to work assiduously in the best interest of their colleagues and call on all students to focus on their academic studies assuring them of their fullest support.
In his maiden statement, the newly elected president Bockarie Rogers expressed his gratitude to the staff and colleague students for entrusting him the position of presidency and promised to play a vital role in representing the interests of the students and fostering a positive and inclusive campus environment.
Rogers emphasized that this leadership position comes with responsibilities such as advocating for students, collaborating with staff and organizing activities to enhance the overall campus experience.
The election was climaxed with the proclamation of various positions to appointees by the president and his secretary.
