Albert Momoh, a concerned citizen, has urged the Freetown City Council and the central government to address the deplorable condition of the Central Bus Station in Freetown. In a passionate Facebook post, he expressed the disappointment and frustration felt by many residents regarding the station’s neglect.
“It is with deep disappointment and concern that I write to express what many citizens are feeling: shame and frustration over the deplorable condition of the Central Bus Station,” Momoh stated. He questioned how such a critical public facility, used daily by thousands of commuters, could fall into such disrepair and filth.
Momoh described the current state of the station as not only an eyesore but also a public health hazard, reflecting poor urban management. “This level of deterioration is unacceptable in a capital city. Our people deserve clean, safe, and well-maintained public infrastructure,” he added.
He called on authorities to take immediate and visible action to rehabilitate and maintain the Central Bus Station, emphasizing that the people of Freetown deserve better and that it is the duty of officials to ensure this vital hub is restored to a satisfactory condition.
