The executive of the Pujehun District Students’ Association (PuDSA), led by its National President, Mohamed Alie Kamara, alongside the Secretary and the wider executive body, has extended heartfelt appreciation to key benefactors whose support contributed significantly to the successful turning of the sod for the association’s long-awaited National Secretariat Building.
The landmark ceremony, held on Sunday 3rd May 2026, marked a historic milestone in PuDSA’s development journey, symbolising not only the commencement of a physical structure but also the consolidation of unity, vision, and leadership within the student body.
In their statement of appreciation, the executive singled out Hon. Dr. Sidie Mohamed Tunis, widely regarded as the “Political Godfather,” for his unwavering moral and strategic backing to the association over the years. His continuous encouragement, according to the executive, has remained a pillar of strength for PuDSA’s leadership.
Equally, high praise was reserved for Hon. Dixon Momoh Rogers, affectionately described as the “PuDSA Father,” whose support was characterised as nothing short of extraordinary. The executive noted that Hon. Dixon’s contribution towards the project has been so impactful that it “stands like a blank cheque of commitment,” reflecting unmatched dedication to youth and educational development.
The Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Hon. Nabeela Farida Tunis, also received special commendation from the association, as she was warmly recognised as the “PuDSA Mother.” The executive highlighted her “record-breaking and legacy-driven donation,” which includes a scholarship pledge benefiting 15 deserving students, a gesture described as transformative and future-shaping for the next generation of PuDSA members.
For the record, the executive lauded Hon. Tunis’s intervention as a defining act of leadership that goes beyond symbolic support, calling it a legacy contribution that will continue to inspire educational advancement within Pujehun District for years to come.
The sod-turning ceremony itself attracted a strong gathering of stakeholders, including past presidents, community leaders, and educational representatives, all witnessing what many described as a “new era” for PuDSA. The event was performed under the leadership of National President Mohamed Alie Kamara, with strong backing from the association’s key patrons and partners.
The PuDSA leadership reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the successful completion of the Secretariat project, noting that the foundation laid represents not just bricks and mortar, but a lasting institution for student empowerment, unity, and leadership development in Pujehun District.
