Lucy, a class six pupil of the “God is Our Light Primary School” in Koidu City formerly of Tonkoro Camp Kono District has reportedly been murdered by her 14-year-old alleged rival, Edith Sia Lebbie.

According to reports, Lebbie had previously accused the deceased of dating her boyfriend and promised to teach her an unexplainable lesson.

According to Sia Kugbana, an eyewitness, of the same aforementioned address stated that on Thursday 23rd February 2023, the accused (Edith) sent the deceased (Lucy) to collect Le20,000 from her mother and help her buy kush.

She added that it was during the process that the alleged murderer accused the deceased of dating her boyfriend and later threatened to teach her an unexplained lesson.

According to the eye witness, Edith said she was the first to date the boy, while the deceased did not respond to the accusation.

Kugbana further stated that on the same date at night, Edith asked the deceased (Lucy) to accompany her to Social Complex Opera in Koidu City, adding that she advised the deceased not to follow the accused bringing instance of their misunderstanding earlier in the day, but the deceased did not hear to her advice and left with the accused.

She continued that both the deceased and the accused did not return until the remains of the deceased were found laid at a hand-dug pump at the Tankoro Camp.

According to the family members of the deceased, a superficial postmortem examination was conducted on the deceased by the Medical Superintendent of Kiodu Government Hospital, Dr. Daniel Lavalie, who states that the deceased did not die an ordinary death.

He said the deceased was tortured to death, adding that her skull and neck were broken and blood oozed in her brain and was bleeding while in the mortuary, but have been handed over to the body to the family for burial.

The accused who was on the run has reportedly been arrested and placed in police custody.

A total number of four people, including the accused are in custody helping the police with investigations.
