Residents of Yaidama Village Appeal for Proper School to Secure Children’s Future

The local school in Yaidama, a village in Lei Chiefdom, is reportedly facing severe challenges that threaten the education and well-being of its students.

The current school structure, a thatched building, lacks essential amenities, including proper roofing, furniture, toilets, and access to clean water. Those inadequate conditions not only hinder learning but also pose health risks for the children attending the school.

Despite efforts by the government, such as the Free Quality Education program and the establishment of Kono University of Science and Technology, rural areas like Yaidama have been reportedly overlooked.

Community leaders and parents have expressed concern that the government’s commitment to education must extend beyond urban centers to ensure that all children have equitable access to quality education.
