Police have launched a formal murder investigation following the discovery of a 15-year-old schoolgirl’s body in a bush near Gberere Junction, an incident that has deeply shaken the local community.
The Sierra Leone Police confirmed that officers from the Port Loko Division responded to the scene on Tuesday, March 31, after receiving reports of a suspected murder at Komrabai Village.
Crime Officer Inspector Bangalie Bangura and his team arrived swiftly at the location, where they positively identified the deceased as Isatu Aminata Kamara, a pupil of Jeremiah Senior Secondary School.
Preliminary forensic work at the scene was conducted by Scene of Crime Officer Sub-Inspector Abdulai Sesay before the body was examined and removed.
The remains have since been transported to the Port Loko Mortuary, where a full medical examination will be carried out to establish the exact cause of death.
Police officials stated that investigations are actively ongoing as detectives work to piece together the circumstances leading to the teenager’s death.
Authorities have assured the public of their commitment to identifying those responsible and bringing them to justice, as concerns mount over the safety of young people in the area.
