The Independent Media Commission (IMC) has said that they are looking into a complaint lodged against Radio Democracy Producer, Alex Lawrence Koroma.
IMC said Fayia Sellu is displeased with the “Good Morning Salone” Programme that hosted his wife and one of his deputies, Assistant Commissioner of Police Brima Kamara.
“Restating the complaint on behalf of Mr. William Fayia Sellu, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Brima Kamara said that on Monday 22nd May, 2023, Alex Lawrence Koroma on Good Morning Salone Show Radio Democracy 98.1, smeared the character and person of Mr. William Fayia Sellu without getting his own side of the story,” IMC said.
The Commission also noted that Koroma responded to the complaint by the Police Chief that his intention was not “to destroy the good image of Mr. William Fayia Sellu”. The IMC said the Producer told them that it was a mistake and pleaded for time to do a “retraction with equal prominence as soon as possible”.
Meanwhile IMC also noted that they are monitoring and investigating several complaints against Standard Times The Exclusive and Sky Times Newspapers.
The Commission said that they are monitoring a complaint against the Exclusive Newspaper on a publication done on the 12th May with title “1,500 ECOMOG troops, 78 EU Observers, US Marines to Deploy 30 Observers from Carter Center”.
Similarly, they said they are also looking into a complaint made by Ahmed Senousi Sesay of the Al-Sheefa Arab Clinic for publication by Sky Times accusing the hospital of employing unqualified pharmacist who allegedly abuses female staff at the said hospital.
