The Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces Wives Cooperative Society has sworn in a new executive.
The event took place on Saturday, February 1 at the Julius Maada Bio Parade Square at Wilberforce Barracks in Freetown.
The Society swore in Asanatu Sao Bangura as president with Yeama Tity Sesay serving as vice president. Yassin Bockarie was made Secretary General while Veronica Ngaujah is expected to serve as head of the advisory committee.
Other executive members include: Medrisa Gbanie (Treasurer), Mariama Beatrice Kamara (Financial Secretary), Roselyn Magdaline Massaquoi (PRO), Vicky Jusu (Project Coordinator), Patricia Kaisamba (School Coordinator), Fatmata Bockarie (Whip) and Juliana Sellu (Auditor).
The new executive is expected to run the affairs of the society immediately after they are sworn in.
The Society was founded on the pretext of providing the necessary support to military families in the country. Sierra Leone is one of many countries that encourages such associations to foster unity among military families especially those living in barracks.
