Six former female students of a renowned girls’ secondary school in Bo city, arrested and jailed last week for alleged illegal gathering, were hit with criminal charges by the Sierra Leone Police, and arraigned in front of a magistrates’ courtroom, a senior police officer said Wednesday.

“The police charged them to court for unlawful assembly,” LUC Kamara said in a WhatsApp text message.
