A tragic accident claimed the life of a Sierra Leonean worker, Sulaiman, who was struck by a 12-tire truck while on duty at night in Guinea.

The incident occurred in Tokonue village, located near the border with Sierra Leone, where Sulaiman was employed by the Simandou Railway Construction Company, a significant infrastructure project in the region.

Witnesses reported that the accident happened during Sulaiman’s work shift, highlighting the dangers faced by workers in high-risk construction zones.

In response to the tragedy, the Simandou Railway Construction Company has offered a compensation package of Le100 million to Sulaiman’s bereaved family.

The circumstances surrounding the collision remain unclear, prompting concerns about safety measures in place for workers, particularly those from neighboring countries.
