Kadiatu Sesay, a resident of Yollah Bangura Street in Port Loko City has been left homeless and struggling to care for her children following the collapse of her four-room house.
The incident occurred at night when strong winds and heavy rain battered the city. One of Sesay’s daughters was injured in the collapse and required medical attention.
“It was at night when heavy rain was pouring accompanied by winds I heard the sound of falling bricks at the other side of the building, I then realized the damage and one of my daughters was mildly affected and needs medical care.”
Sesay, who lost her husband several years ago, has been the sole provider for her family. She explained that she had been aware of the building’s deteriorating condition but was unable to afford necessary repairs.
