The Fourth Prosecution Witness on the ongoing murder trial of Ekubolajie Nicol, Amidu Conteh has narrated before Magistrate Marke Ngegba of Court No.1 on Pademba Road, Freetown, that when he went with a team of police officers at Connaught Hospital, he discovered that the face of Sinnah Kai Kargbo was swollen.

Amadu Conteh led by State Counsel Amadu Jalloh took the witness stand to narrate what he did in the murder investigation of Sinnah Kai Kargbo, former staff of Skye bank who was allegedly murdered by the General Manager of the same Bank.

In his testimony, Detective Police Serageant 9546 Conteh attached to the Scientific Support Units at the Central Police Station said he is responsible to identify and collect photographs of the crime scene. He said he recognized the 17 accused and recalled 16th October 2022.

He said on that day, he was on duty at Central Police Station when a case of murder was reported by one Idrissa Kamara from Wilberforce.

The police witness said upon receiving the report, a team of police officers led by Detective Inspector Moro V.A and himself left for Connaught Hospital Mortuary, and that on arrival, they requested to bring out the deceased, Sinnah Kai Kargbo and that Idrissa Kamara identified the deceased in the presence of the accused, Ekubolajie Nicol. Looking at the corpse, the witness said he observed that her face was swollen and that she was wearing a black T-shirt and trousers.

He said he took photographs of the deceased and later returned to the police station, adding that on the same day, the operation team left together with him and the accused person to the crime scene at No. 1 Nicol Street, Leicester, and on reaching the scene, the accused showed them his house and he observed that the house was fenced and gated.

He said the accused led them to his bedroom where the search was conducted and that during the search photographs were taken by him and were developed into pictures.

The pictures were tendered and attached to a report marked as Exhibit B1- 17

The witness was cross-examined by defense counsel Roland SV Wright Esq.

After cross-examination, the defense said the accused was detained for over twenty-four days and that the prosecution has delayed producing witnesses so that they can speedily conclude the matter.

Magistrate Ngegba in his reply said he has noted his concern.

He adjourned the matter to the 28th of December 2022.
