The Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA) has vowed to swiftly repair the Makambo Bridge, which was damaged by recent flooding in Makeni.
Following severe flooding in Makeni, the Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA) has assured prompt repairs to the cracked Makambo Bridge.
SLRA Bombali Engineer Bai Maro Kamara reported that a recent needs assessment found the damage to be less severe than initially feared, with cracks confined to the transitional section and not affecting the bridge’s foundation.
Kamara confirmed that documentation for repairs is being finalized and emphasized the SLRA’s commitment to addressing the issue quickly.
Resident Isata Jalloh expressed concern over the bridge’s condition, stressing the need for urgent action to prevent economic disruption.
