The St. Edward’s Junior Secondary School community is mourning the sudden death of its Principal, Mrs. Alimatu Massaquoi, who died in a road accident on the evening of Sunday 19th October 2025

Eyewitnesses reported that the incident occurred at Congo Cross. Mrs. Massaquoi was attempting to cross the street when an object slipped from her hand. As she bent to pick it up, she was struck by a speeding vehicle.

Bystanders rushed her to the 34 Military Hospital for emergency treatment, but she succumbed to her injuries en route.

Mrs. Massaquoi was widely respected for her dedication to education and guidance of students and staff. School authorities and colleagues have expressed profound grief over her untimely passing.
