A teacher in his late thirties is currently under investigation for the alleged raping and killing of an 8-year-old pupil identified as Khadija.

Reports reaching this medium alleged that the teacher, popularly known as Mr. Kamara raped the 8-year-old at the school’s toilet last week during school hours.

The report stated that the man after allegedly raping the pupil, gave her pills believed to be poison which eventually resulted to her death days later at Satellite Hospital on Kingharman Road in Freetown.

The family of the deceased are yet to go public on the matter, but one relative said to us that they are devastated by the sudden demise of their daughter who they said was brilliant in school and had so much potential.

The matter has garnered much attention from the public and netizens with one lady describing the act as “devilish and satanic” and another calling for the suspect to be jailied for a long time.

Although there are report of rape cases in Sierra Leone, the number has been reducing in recent years after the government amended the Sexual Offences Act of 2019 and also set a Sexual Model Court division at the Freetown High to expedite trials.

The court, over the years, has enabled speedy trials with cases that used to last years now concluded in months and some in weeks.
