Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown has remanded three staff members of Sierratel at the Pademba Road male Correctional  Center

The three were remanded in custody for allegedly stealing properties belonging to the Sierra Leone Telecommunications Company.

The Three accused staff who made their first appearance are Mamoud Kamara, Alie Barrie and Amara Sesay.

The accused were arraigned before the court on two count charges of conspiracy to commit a crime contrary to law and larceny contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.

Police further alleged that the accused stole six Aviat Eclipse IGbps microwave link, one DC rectifier cabinet 48v.200 APM, twelve deep cycl. VLAR Gel battery and other assorted items valued at Three Million Nine Hundred and Seventy- three Thousand and Seventeen Leones (Le3,973,017) property of the Sierra Leone Telecommunications Company.

All the accused pleaded not guilty to the offences when the charges were read and explained to them.

The Prosecutor, Sergeant I.S. Bangura sought for a short adjournment indicating that the witnesses were absent in court.

The accused were unrepresented in court and so no bail application was made on their behalf. Meanwhile, Magistrate Kekura ordered that the accused be remanded at the Male Correctional facility until the adjourned date of 6th August, 2024.
