The Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs has issued a heartfelt message of thanks to international reggae superstar Sizzla Kalonji for his participation in the One Nation Reggae Festival.
The Ministry of Tourism extended their “profound gratitude” to the reggae icon for his presence, who graced “every stage, every space, and every moment” of the festival.
Sizzla’s engagement went beyond the main concert, encompassing moments of historical and cultural significance. The Ministry of Tourism also recognised him for his “uplifting presence” at the official launch, at the Maroon Church and Bunce Island, a pivotal site in the transatlantic slave trade. His heartfelt interactions with Sierra Leonean artists and youths were noted, as he generously offered his “time, your wisdom, your spirit, and your heart” to the nation.

The culmination of his visit was a performance at the Radisson Blu Garden, described as creating an atmosphere “nothing short of spiritual.” The Ministry highlighted his “electrifying performance and transformative message,” which, in a “quiet sunrise moment,” lifted the nation into “deeper reflection, unity, and higher consciousness.”
The Ministry of Tourism lauded Sizzla for “standing with Sierra Leone” and for standing as the link between Sierra Leone and the Caribbean. His presence, the Ministry declared, has become part of Sierra Leone’s story, embodying the festival’s theme: “One Nation. One Vibe. One Love. Shared Roots. Shared Rhythm.”
The One Nation Reggae Festival aims to celebrate the deep historical and cultural ties between West Africa and the Caribbean, using the universal language of reggae to promote peace, unity, and shared heritage. Sizzla Kalonji’s headlining presence has significantly elevated the festival’s profile, cementing it as a landmark event in Sierra Leone’s cultural and tourism calendar.
