A traditional healer has been arrested and detained by the Sierra Leone Police in connection with the possession of a loaded firearm, a communication device, and a red beret cap.

Sheku Dabor, a native traditional healer residing at Limba Corner, 4 Mile, Newton, was apprehended on Sunday, November 16, 2025, during a joint police operation conducted alongside the National President of Traditional Healers, Sheku Tarawallie.

According to reports, the operation was part of a coordinated random search targeting traditional healers across Freetown-West and Freetown-East, following intelligence suggesting some practitioners may be involved in illicit activities.

During the search of Dabor’s residence, officers discovered a Glock 17 pistol loaded with approximately eight rounds of ammunition, a communication handset, and a red beret cap, which are considered suspicious items.

Dabor was immediately taken into custody and is currently assisting the police with ongoing investigations.
