Authorities in Sierra Leone have uncovered two suitcases containing marshmallow leaves believed to be a key ingredient in the production of the synthetic drug Kush during an operation at Brook Street in Freetown.

The discovery was made by the Special Task Force on drugs as part of ongoing efforts to combat the growing spread of Kush across the country. The substance, commonly associated with the manufacture of the dangerous synthetic drug, was reportedly found at No. 17 Brook Street.

According to the head of the task force, Andrew Jaiah KaiKai, the occupant of the house an elderly woman widely known as Mama Marie will be handed over to the Transnational Organized Crime Unit (TOCU) for further investigation.
