The President and Founder of the United Pujehun District Association, Patrick Daddy Kanyako in a recent address, highlighted the organization’s commitment to fostering development in the Pujehun District. Established in 2021, the association aims to ensure the welfare of Wanjamarians through various initiatives.

Kanyako emphasized the organization’s focus on providing equitable access to quality services, including education, health, energy, infrastructure, and agriculture. Notably, the association plays a pivotal role in conflict resolution, successfully addressing clashes and contributing to the overall peace process in the region.

One of the association’s key mandates is to monitor the use of funds allocated for the district’s development, preventing misappropriation that could leave communities underdeveloped.

Kanyako revealed that the organization has been instrumental in resolving disputes, reinstating peace in Pejeh chiefdom, and contributing to the establishment of the Youth Rise Above Training Center.

Highlighting successes, Kanyako mentioned the association’s role in curbing illegal mining in Pejeh’s chiefdom, settling a significant court case, and conducting outreach in all 14 chiefdoms to understand the constraints people face and provide holistic support.

Despite these accomplishments, Kanyako acknowledged financial challenges hindering development in major communities. He called on district stakeholders and donor partners to support the United Pujehun District Association in its mission to uplift the Pujehun District and empower its residents for a brighter future.
