A tragic accident occurred at approximately 17:30 today in Korboya village, located along the Port Loko Highway.
The incident, which resulted from overloading on a rusty carrier, has sparked concerns about the safety of road users and the alleged collusion between the drivers’ union and traffic authorities.
According to eyewitnesses, the overloaded vehicle lost control and crashed, causing significant damage and raising alarms about the state of road safety in the region.
While the exact number of casualties and injuries remains unconfirmed, the incident highlights a growing issue of vehicle overloading, which continues to plague Sierra Leone’s highways.
