President Julius Maada Bio expressed immense joy and rejuvenation after a visit to his hometown of Tihun, a small rural town in the Sogbini Chiefdom, Southern Province.

During his trip, the president engaged with locals in a meeting that he described as both productive and inspiring, praising their support and dedication to Sierra Leone’s development.

“Coming back home is always refreshing,” President Bio said, underscoring the personal significance of the visit. “Being with and speaking to my people allows them to articulate their views in their own voices and express passionately our shared hope for a better future.”

He noted that the enthusiasm of everyday Sierra Leoneans is a driving force behind the government’s ongoing efforts to improve the country. “Their support and commitment to working even harder to transform our great nation is remarkable,” Bio remarked.

Acknowledging the challenges Sierra Leone faces, President Bio emphasized that the determination and resilience of citizens like those in Tihun serve as a reminder of the potential for progress. “Tihun has always refreshed me and has reminded me again and again about the power of the human spirit, the tenacity, and beauty of everyday Sierra Leoneans,” he said.
