Isata Bindi, a 29-year-old unemployed woman, has made her first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura at Pademba Road Court No. 1 in Freetown on a charge of manslaughter.

The charge, which is contrary to law, stems from an incident that occurred in April 2025.

According to the particulars of the offense, Bindi is accused of unlawfully killing Mustapha Bangura via fatal stabbing at Fossic Williams Drive, located off Aberdeen Road in the Western Area of Freetown.

During the court session, the charge was read and explained to her; however, Bindi did not enter a plea. Notably, she was not represented by legal counsel during the proceedings.

Given the gravity of the manslaughter charge, Magistrate Kekura denied Bindi bail, emphasizing the seriousness of the offense. The case has been adjourned and is scheduled to resume on May 23, 2025.
