A fearful ferry accident occurred today the 4th January, 2023 as the MV Mahera Ferry and MV Bai Bureh collides at sea closer to Lungi.
The said accident occured due to a bad weather condition this morning that affected both ferries leading to a crash.
The ram of one of the ferries is said to be broken, already.
However, according to sources, no one was hurt and the MV Mahera has safely landed whiles the Bai Bureh is still stranded a few meters from the terminal.
According to Journalist Putka Kamara, reporting on the said issue, he said this is not the first time Sierra Leone is experiencing such discomforts and disheartening experiences.
He advised that the Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Transport and Aviation through the Marine Administration devise more mechanisms on letting vessels at sea because the safety of people should be paramount!
